Do I Need AI SEO Tools in 2022 ?

Introduction to AI SEO tools: What they are, why they are important !

There is little doubt about the next big thing in online marketing and SEO in 2022. It’s definitely using tools based upon artificial intelligence or AI as it’s commonly abbreviated. In fact AI is being implemented in all sorts of areas online from creating content including text, videos and even to search engine optimisation (SEO). In countless marketing forums you’ll see huge discussions around the role of AI and whether it even works.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or webpage in a search engine’s unpaid results—often referred to as “natural,” “organic,” or “earned” results. This is usually done by improving the ranking of a given page within the search engine’s index—although other tactics can be used to achieve a higher rank.

It’s probably one of the most important online skills, simply because it can bring in valuable business directly from the search engines. What’s more it’s potentially free traffic without the need for placing expensive adverts online.

On-Page SEO

SEO is a process of optimizing the content and code on your website to rank higher in search engine results pages. This can be achieved through different methods, but mainly involves creating relevant and high-quality content, implementing high-quality web design and coding practices from the start of a site’s development.

In addition to these on-site methods, there are also off-site methods which arguably are just as important.

Off-Page SEO

The majority of off-page methods used in SEO revolve around building links back to your web pages. This involves creating a link profile that the search engines will find valuable. This can be done by building quality content, distributing it on social media sites and article directories as well as submitting sitemaps to search engines.

basically the more and better the links pointing back to your web pages the likelier it is to rank highly. In 2022 though you have to be careful, this is a much abused tactic and creating thousands of links from worthless websites will only send you ranking in one direction (and it’s not up!).

How AI is used in SEO

It’s relatively early days but it looks likely that AI will dominate in two specific areas of SEO – producing content and optimizing it for search rankings. There are already many different tools in this sector with hundreds of thousands of people using them every day.

Creating New Content

This is something that anyone who works online has been waiting for. Producing regular, quality content is both difficult and extremely time consuming. However without new content any web property will start to fail. Whether it’s a social media site, YouTube channel or a website/blog without new content the visitors will stop coming.

The primary goal of AI currently is to create and improve the quality and effectiveness of content. Content created with AI can help you create more targeted, personalized experiences that resonate with your audience while also making it easier for you to identify opportunities in keyword-rich queries.

Depending on the use case, there are a variety of ways that artificial intelligence is used in SEO:

– In order to find new opportunities for increased visibility or greater search traffic;

– To identify gaps where no relevant content exists;

– To create content for a specific keyword.

Modify Existing Content

One of the most under-used tactics in SEO is to keep updating your existing content. If you’ve been online for any length of time you’ve probably got hundreds or even thousands of pages which just sit there doing nothing. Ignoring these is a mistake and even a quick update can get them ranking again.

However some of the latest AI tools can help you turbocharge this task too. Programs like Outranking and Frase allow you to import existing content, analysis their rankings and then make recommendations to improve the content. In addition they can even expand or rewrite the content automatically using their AI writing functionality.

Here’s one of the AI programs that can do this called Outranking

AI SEO Tools

It’s one of the most advanced AI SEO tools because it’s capable of analysing content, creating content and ensuring that the end result ranks highly in the Google search rankings.

Best AI SEO Software

In the last year or so, there’s been a whole host of new software tools which utilise artificial intelligence for various online tasks.   Lots use proxies to create multiple accounts too.  Most of the content producing software use something called GPT3 to produce their content.

What is GPT3 ?

GPT3 is an AI-powered search engine optimization software that helps content creators increase traffic and revenue.

The GPT3 platform includes features like keyword research, article spinning, social media management, and viral video marketing.

GPT3 also has a suite of tools to help businesses grow, including an AI-powered chatbot that can answer customer questions 24/7 in multiple languages. Using GPT3 to write new content – or to update old content – will help increase the likelihood of ranking higher in search engine results pages.

There are now quite a few tools which utilize GPT3 although surprisingly the quality of content can actually vary quite significantly despite the same source.

Multiple SEO Tools Means More Costs

There has been an initial rush in purely content creating tools, however this trend is rapidly changing. Pure content producers like Jarvis are concentrating on this functionality almost exclusively but many other providers are trying to cover more bases. The rise of artificial intelligence tools linked with GPT3 means that producing content is going to get even easier. Previously tools relied on spinning and copying content to produce new material, this has rarely worked well. The new tools though can produce quality, human readable content very easily.

The issue is that new content brings little benefit unless people read it. Generally this requires organic traffic from one of the major search engines or through social media. Basically you need your content to rank for it to bring visitors to your sites. Churning out generic content which doesn’t rank won’t usually be very profitable.

This means SEO is going to remain vital and SEO tools play a vital role here too. This means getting the on-page SEO optimisation right with all the content you produce. Difficult to do manually especially if you’re targeting an unfamiliar niche.

Automating SEO and Content

You’ll hear lots of SEO ‘experts’ online tell people to write simply for users and to ignore SEO. Unfortunately unless you have a hugely powerful and popular site which doesn’t need search engine traffic simply doesn’t work.

Your content needs to rank, it needs to provide a service or answer a need if you want it to be successful. There’s millions of pages of wonderful content sitting on the web which are virtually never seen by anyone.

As we’ve mentioned there are two factors which affect ranking – off-page and on-page. On page is by far the easiest to utilise simply because it’s entirely under your control. This is where AI SEO tools are important, making sure that you optimize everything you write before you post it online. It actually doesn’t take much longer if you use the right tools, yet it hugely increases your chance of success.

Step By Step AI SEO Tools

Here’s a very quick run down of what I use to publish online. I’ve used a lot of methods over the last twenty years of blogging – but this is the first time ever I feel I’ve got the right process and tools. Virtually every post I now make will rank highly for my targeted keywords !

Step 1 – Keyword Research

There’s a lot of great tools for finding the right keywords and I’m definitely not suggesting this is the only option because it isn’t. I’ve tried virtually all the main players and the main issue I found with programs like AHREFS is that you get swamped with too much information. They are amazing but just too much, they slow the process to a standstill with a detail that only ends up confusing.

Success online is inevitably linked to taking action and the best keyword research tools just simply stop that happening. In my experience you need a quick tool which accurately finds weak and achievable keywords based on the subject of your post.

This is the one I use, it’s called LowFruits – it can’t really be described as an AI SEO tool but it’s by far the simplest and most effective tool I’ve ever found at discovering easy keyword opportunities.

Don’t underestimate the importance of this step, if you choose a keyword that’s either too difficult or doesn’t have enough traffic you’re largely wasting your time. LowFruits can give you huge lists of easy keywords in almost any niche. They’ve a free trial to test it out first. You can either use their subscription model or pay for credits as you use them, the subscription option is cheaper if you use it a lot.

Step 2 – Producing Your Content with an AI Writer

So if you’ve found some good keywords based around your topic then it’s time to start writing your content. This is obviously by far the most time consuming step of publishing anything online. Which is why Artificial Intelligence is such an important innovation in this sector. For years people have come up with various options to produce content more quickly e.g. –

  • Rewriting PLR Articles
  • Spinning existing content into duplicates
  • Copying Video transcripts into blog posts

Plus a variety of variations on these methods. Needless to say they were all pretty hopeless, even the so called intelligent automated spinners like Article Forge produced very hard to read content.

AI writing tools have changed all this, with a click of a button you can produce human readable content instantly. What’s more the content is often so good it’s difficult to tell it’s actually been written by computer code.

The vast majority of these tools are based on something called GPT-3 which stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3. This is a ls a language model that uses large data sets of text in one domain to generate similar but different content for another. The model has been trained using huge amounts of original content already posted on the internet up until 2019.

To use GPT-3, you just specify what text you want to generate and the domain of content where it is being generated for. The tools generally facilitate these tasks and make generating large amounts of AI written text much easier. There are lots of these around but some of the popular ones include Jarvis, Writesonic, Market Muse, Ryter and dozens more. Many other tools like Grammarly, SEMrush and SEO Surfer are also expanding their tools to include this AI functionality too.

Here’s an example from my favorite – Outranking

It’s definitely not the easiest of these tools to use, however in my opinion it is one of the best for a couple of reasons. Firstly the AI written content is not completely dependent on GPT3 because it uses a special system called concepts. This combines the data from GPT3 with factual information from currently ranking websites for your chosen keywords. This means it can actually write proper factual content something that most GPT3 based writers fail miserably at.

The other important reasons is that Outranking also acts as an SEO ranking tool as well. If you look at the right hand side of the picture you can see an SEO score being produced as you write.

Producing SEO Optimized Content

So what’s better than producing lots of AI written posts for your websites? Well, lots of posts that rank highly in the SERPS for one. If you let Outranking guide you when producing content you’ll have a much better chance of ranking consistently. Obviously choosing the right keywords initially is important too, you won’t be able to rank for very difficult keywords purely using on-page factors. However whatever keywords you use, you should achieve must higher rankings.

From my initial testing, nearly every post I’ve produced using Outranking has ranked in the top 20 positions. In fact the majority have reached the top ten with only a couple of ‘failures’ in a large number of posts created.   My only non-ranking article was proabably due to the subject which was SmartDNS being posted on the wrong sort of non-technical website.  This compares much more favourably than other SEO optimisers I’ve tried like SEO Surfer and Frase. Although to be fair, others have reported success with those tools too.

There are a lot of SEO Ai tools software available and it’s difficult to find ones that work for you. Most of them are also quite expensive too, so it’s important that you use them effectively in order to recoup the cost. This is perhaps the one drawback that Outranking has over something like Jarvis or Ink – it’s not quite as simple to use. However the owners have promised to improve the interface in the coming releases.

There’s no doubt though that it’s one of the most effective SEO AI tools in the market.
