The International SGML/XML Users' Group annual mid-year meeting, which will be held in Sheraton Hotel in Chicago on Wednesday, 18 Nov 1998, from 4:30-5:30 (i.e., immediately after the close of the closing session of XML'98), will have the added excitement of being an Extraordinary General Meeting to discuss how we should proceed to run the society if, as in currently the case, we cannot persuade enough people to stand for posts in the 7 man executive. Of vital importance is to find a replacement for retiring President Pam Gennusa.
The following motion will be debated at the ISUG Extraordinary General Meeting:
As insufficient numbers of members are willing to volunteer for the task of managing the International SGML Users Group, the outgoing President will advertise a post of Executive Director for ISUG among members of the SGML and XML communities, and will appoint the most suitable candidate within the budget of ISUG to take over the future day-to-day management of the organization.
