Documensa: Documensa Produces Le DOC with EdiBase <SGML>

Documensa specialize in Document Engineering, SGML applications and electronic distribution of textbases and have just produced the new version of Le DOC, which contains La banque de terminologie du Quebec with Edibase <SGML>. Le DOC is an SGML textbase retrieval software specifically designed for document publishing and management on CD-ROM, Internet and Intranet.

This CD-ROM contains some 800,000 specialized terms in French and English and the database is widely used in Canada by translation and terminology departments in a variety of private and public organisations. Le DOC also contains a bibliographic database for terminological source references and an electronic view of Le francais au bureau, which is a very popular reference book in Quebec for correct use of French language in the work office environment.

EdiBase <SGML> is a retrieval software used on the CD-ROM to search terms, with their definition, translation, synonyms and other terminological information. Each record in the database must be represented in SGML. Documensa created a DTD for this terminology database and converted the data from a proprietary format to SGML. EdiBase <SGML> offers search and retrieval features through browsable constructed indexes, full-text search and display of retrieval records. It is a software suite based on a client-server architecture with modular product scale especially designed for local database, CD-ROM, Internet and Intranet document applications. EdiBase <SGML> runs under Windows and Macintosh environments for local databases and CD-ROM applications and with a UNIX or Windows NT Server and a Windows or Macintosh Client for Intranet applications.
