On July 29th 1996 Exoterica Corporation announced that it is changing it's name to OmniMark Technologies Corporation.
Exoterica was founded ten years ago as an SGML integration company that provides services to organizations who create, manage and publish large quantities of text-intensive electronic content. Exoterica developed the first commercially supported SGML Parser and OmniMark, a programming language for working with SGML.
OmniMark Version 3 - the next generation of OmniMark is scheduled for full production release in the fourth quarter of 1996. It is designed to be a platform for building hypertext-rich content servers. Version 3 incorporates OmniMark functionality within a dynamic client/server architecture. It is designed to plug-and-play with mainstream relational database technologies i.e., Oracle, Sybase and Informix; full-text retrieval engines from Verity, Fulcrum, IDI, and Open Text as well as application development environments such as Netscape , Visual Basic, C++ and PowerBuilder; and it provides the server logic that will enable real-time delivery of personalized information on-line, on CD-ROM, on the World Wide Web and for print-on-demand.
OmniMark Version 3 is a development tool optimized for integration with both RDBMS and SGML data sources enabling simultaneous processing, transformations and publishing of information stored in corporate and document databases. It is a commercially supported programming language for developing the server logic needed to collect, transform and deliver up-to-the minute document centric information.
