On 11th September 1996, Xyvision, Inc. announced Conductor, a compound document management solution that combines Xyvision's proven document management system, Parlance Document Manager[TM] (PDM), with Adobe[TM] System's user-friendly SGML authoring and publishing application, FrameMaker+SGML. SGML Conductor provides users with a total solution for managing, sharing and publishing SGML fragments and graphics into printed and electronic documents within a unified environment.

SGML Conductor enables users to:

Edit SGML fragments inside PDM with FrameMaker+SGML
Automatically check-out graphics referenced within the SGML fragment
Import graphics or check-out additional SGML fragments that are stored in the PDM database from within FrameMaker+SGML
Select and assemble complete PDM document structures to publish as paper documents with FrameMaker+SGML or with other applications to produce electronic documents
Utilize other standard PDM features such as workflow, version control and configuration management
Access changing Intranet or Internet information with Xyvision's Web Porter

SGML Conductor will ship in mid-October on the Sun®/Solaris® platform. Other client platforms, which include Windows® 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, and IBM®/AIX®, will be available by year end.
