








Welcome to our new Newsletter - the first one of the International SGML Users' Group. Yes, the ballot on our constitution passed (see New Constitution Approved), and we have now started using our new name.
As you can see, we have a new look for the Newsletter. This is thanks to our new Production Editor, Marilyn Chick (ross@iquest.net). The new format will continue to evolve throughout the year. We hope it will make reading the Newsletter more enjoyable for you.
We have also begun changing the content. In this issue, we inaugurate the Getting Vertical column with Richard Light's SGML and the Museum. Many of us may not be familiar with the documents used by museums. Richard takes us behind the exhibits to explain a vertical industry where SGML can meet critical business requirements.
We would like to establish a letters column where
you can comment on articles or share information about using SGML.
