ArborText continues growth with $6.3 million in new capital

On 14th January 1997, ArborText Inc. announced it has completed a new $6.3 million round of equity-based financing that will enhance its potential for rapid growth.

Two separate venture capital firms, Norwest Venture Capital and Access Ventures, participated in the latest funding round for the privately held company.

Jim Sterken, ArborText's president, stated: "The additional capital provided by Norwest and Access will help ArborText achieve its growth potential to the benefit of our customers, employees, and shareholders." ArborText will use the resources to aggressively fund growth including heightened sales and marketing activities and staff development. Plans include hiring an additional 100 staff members in 1997.

ArborText announces annual user's group meeting for 1997

Following the success of last year's AUGI user conference, ArborText users are invited to attend the second annual meeting on 21st -- 24th May 1997 at the Drake Hotel, Chicago.

This year's ArborText Users' Group International conference will include:

• new product demonstrations, focusing particularly on user interface improvements and tight integration with document management systems
• sneak preview of future products
• follow-up to last year's Wish List sessions and opportunities to share wish lists for future products and services
• update on current standards issues including XML, DSSSL and HyTime
• presentations from fellow users sharing their experiences and expertise
• vendor showcase featuring products and services from over a dozen related companies

Optional half-day workshops will also be available to help attendees learn how to use ArborText products.
