SGML/XML Europe is the GCA's annual comprehensive event on applications, trends, and the technologies that support the Standard Generalized Markup Language (ISO 8879) and the Extensible Markup Language.
If you are concerned about the creation, management, and delivery of documentary information, SGML/XML Europe offers the only European venue to hear, see, and learn about the important standards and technologies available to corporate and commercial publishers.
SGML/XML Europe '98 will have sessions for managers, users, and technical experts. Additionally, there will be a technology track for indepth presentations on new research, fledgling products, and exploratory technologies. An exhibit floor featuring over 40 vendor stands will complement the conference. For two days preceding the conference, there will be a wide range of one- and two-day tutorials.
Potential topics for this year's conference include:
Interested parties are invited to submit proposals for presentations at SGML/XML Europe '98. Of specific interest are papers on any of the listed topics or related subjects that discuss implementation choices at the managerial, user, or technical expert level. Proposals for the Technologies Track are also welcome. All presentations will be given in English and will be in 45 minute blocks (30-35 minutes for presentation; 10-15 minutes for discussion). There will be electronic and paper conference proceedings.

Notification of selection: 2 February 1998.
Full papers (marked up using designated DTD): 20 March 1998.
Presentations will be made using LCD Panels or video projectors (conference will not supply laptops). Speakers must register for the conference (speaker discount will be available for one presenter per talk, if the full paper is received on schedule).
Presentations must be content- or technically-oriented. Product or service advertisements are not appropriate on the technical programme. The technology track is dedicated to discussions of new technologies.
