AIS Software has announced Balise 4.0 which should bring new features including direct handling of Word/RTF into SGML structures, XML document processing with or without DTD, a new set of functions for SGML DTD information (DTD API), and handling of markup-level SGML structures such as marked section boundaries, SGML entity boundaries, SGML comments, etc. The new product will also allow transparent handling of large, disk-based indexed structures for easy manipulation of large volumes of structured data and processing of large SGML documents stored as disk-based SGML trees allowing easy handling of large SGML/XML information volumes.
